These ten people who won't die are each luckier than the last! They survived disasters that 99% of people couldn't survive. Scroll down to learn about these "ultimate immortal legends"!
#10. Iron Rod Through the Skull

These "unkillable" folks redefine survival. In 1948, American railroad worker Phineas Gage had a fatal-looking accident: a dynamite blast sent an iron rod through his jaw and out the top of his head, launching him 10 meters (33 feet) away. His crew thought he was dead, but minutes later, Gage climbed up unphased. Today, his skull and the rod are on display at Boston’s Warren Anatomical Museum.

#9. 6 Nails Shot Into His Head

On April 19, 2004, 39-year-old Los Angeles construction worker Mejia took a terrifying fall from a rooftop. To make it worse, he landed right near a coworker using a power nail gun—and the gun fired, driving six 3.5-inch nails into his head. The nails tore through his face, neck, and skull—three of them even pierced his brain. You’d think that’s a death sentence, but Mejia made a full recovery. Today, there’s not a single nail left in his head, and he’s known as one of the world’s unkillable men.

#8. Struck by Lightning 7 Times

American park ranger Roy C. Sullivan holds a bizarre record: struck by lightning seven times and surviving all. He’s the US’s most famous "unkillable" figure. Strikes spanned 1942–1977: injuries included a lost toenail, burned eyebrows, shoulder hits, hair fires, and chest burns. He even carried water to douse hair fires later. Sullivan died in 1983 by suicide, not lightning.

#7. Half His Head Blown Off

In 1987, 14-year-old Ohio teen Israfel was at work when his boss’s gun accidentally went off. The bullet blew off half his head—gruesome, right? But against all odds, after a 5-hour surgery, Israfel regained consciousness and could even talk. Doctors filled the huge hole in his skull with silicone resin, then did a scalp transplant and planted new hair to make him look as normal as possible. This unkillable kid’s story still blows people’s minds.

#6. Sole Survivor of a Devastating Volcano Eruption

In 1902, Mount Pelée erupted in the Caribbean, killing over 30,000 on Martinique—all except prisoner Louis-Auguste Cyparis (Hiblis). Locked in a sturdy underground cell, he survived by stuffing peed-on clothes in cracks to block heat. Scorching ash burned him, but wet clothes saved him from lethal hot air (over 1,000°C/1,832°F). He remains the eruption’s sole survivor.

#5. The Woman Who Was Almost Decapitated

On January 25, 2007, 30-year-old Shannon Malloy from Denver, Colorado, got into a car crash. Her head slammed into the dashboard so hard that doctors found her skull was almost completely separated from her body—her cervical spine was dislocated, all the ligaments and tendons in her neck were torn, and only a thin layer of skin was holding her head on. It was like a real-life beheading. But incredibly, Shannon pulled through and survived.

#4. Gangster Shot in the Head

Richard Blass was a Canadian gang leader, and he had a target on his back. In 1968, a rival Mafia group decided to take him out: they sent two hitmen to the bar where he was drinking, and they opened fire wildly. But Blass walked out unscathed. Two weeks later, the Mafia found him at the “Joy Building” motel in Montreal and set the place on fire. Three people died in the blaze, but Blass escaped again. That October, Blass and his crew were ambushed at an auto parts store—he was shot in the head and back, but he still managed to drive away. Total unkillable energy.

#3. Hit by a Meteor

In 1954, Mrs. Hodges from Sylacauga, Alabama, was napping in her living room when chaos fell from the sky: a meteor the size of a grapefruit crashed through her roof, slamming into her arm and hip. We don’t need to tell you how heavy meteors are—this thing was no joke. Today, the meteor is on display at the Alabama Museum of Natural History, and Mrs. Hodges goes down in history as one of the world’s unkillable people.

#2. Paralyzed Man Dragged by a Truck at 80km/h

On June 6, 2007, 21-year-old paralyzed man Carpenter from Michigan was crossing the street in his wheelchair when he collided with a truck. The wheelchair’s rear handle got stuck tight on the truck—but the driver had no idea. He kept accelerating, dragging Carpenter down the road at a crazy 80 km/h (50 mph). Luckily, Carpenter was wearing his wheelchair seatbelt, so he didn’t fly off. He was dragged for about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) before police pulled the truck over. And get this—Carpenter was totally unharmed.

#1. Stewardess Blown Out of a Plane

On January 26, 1972, a Yugoslavian airliner carrying 28 passengers and crew was bombed by terrorists and exploded over the Czech Republic. Every single person on board—27 people—died. But there was one miracle: 23-year-old Yugoslavian stewardess Vesna Vulović was blown out of the plane without a parachute. She plummeted 10,160 meters (33,333 feet) to the ground like a brick, landing in a snow-covered mountain. Against all possible odds, she survived—becoming the sole survivor of the crash and one of the most famous unkillable people ever.
